Son of Captain LS Holmes and Mrs EL Holmes, of Nqamakwe, Cape Province (Source : C.W.G.C.).

Killed in action on the 14th November 1916. The 13th K.R.R.C. (111th Brigade, 37th Division) was detached to the 63rd (Royal Naval) Division and took part in the capture of Beaucourt.
